Information, not a promise

Guides explain energy performance methods, regulation and official guidance. They are general information, not advice for a specific home, household, landlord, buyer or tenant, not a forecast, and not a guarantee of any saving, rating improvement, grant outcome or compliance result. Performance depends on the home, its construction, its systems and how it is used, which is why every guide teaches the assessment alongside the measure.

Accuracy and dates

Every guide carries the date its evidence was last checked. Regulation is transposed, guidance is revised and schemes change; a guide is a dated snapshot of a checked position, and its checking date tells you how current the snapshot claims to be. Figures quoted from official sources belong to their publishers and are attributed. We correct errors openly on the corrections page.
